Laura Kerr
HOST

Laura is the SCPS Registrar/Meetings and Seminars Chair. She qualified as a perfusionist in 2017 at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Laura works as a clinical perfusionist at the Great Ormond Street Hospital. When not working, Laura enjoys crocheting and learning languages!

Noel Kelleher
SCPS

Noel Kelleher is currently the SCPS Chairman. Noel is the chief perfusionist at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.

Graeme Nias
CO-HOST/SPEAKER

Graeme is our SCPS ECMO Chair. He is also a member of the SCPS M&S sub-committee. Graeme is a Senior Clinical Perfusionist at Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, and has also worked at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield. He gained a BSc in Biomedical Science, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Perfusion Science and an MSc in Translational Cardiovascular Medicine.

Ben Middleton
SCPS

Ben has been the Head of Clinical Perfusion Science at the Essex CTC, Basildon Hospital (MSE NHS Trust) for the last ten years. He trained as a perfusionist at Barts and the London Chest Hospital. He is first author of the book “Physics in Anaesthesia” which is now in its second edition.

David Chambers
SCPS

David is our Honorary SCPS President. He is is consultant clinical scientist, at Guys’ and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Nick Trafford
SCPS

Nick Trafford is the chief perfusionist at the Mater Private Network. With over 13 years’ experience working across the Midlands, London and the South East, he is also a college examiner and Honorary Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering at Queen Mary University, London. Nick is our SCPS Education and Training Chair.

Priya Joshi
SCPS

Priya was elected to the Executive Committee of the Society of Clinical Perfusion Scientists in 2022. She is part of the SCPS Meetings & Seminars sub-committee.  Priya is an Assistant Principal Clinical Perfusionist at the University Hospitals of Leicester (East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre).

Angela Beatson
CCPS

Angela is a College Council Member. She ia also a senior clinical perfusionist at Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust.

John O'Neill
CCPS

John is very interested in Human Factors and set up a team of Human Factors champions across the MDT of the cardiac service.  In September 2018 John joined the Perfusion College Council and became College Secretary in January 2023. His role in the College and as an assessor for unit accreditation has given him perspective on the common challenges facing the perfusion profession.

Sagar Haval
GUEST SPEAKER

Sagar Haval is a pioneering perfusionist and innovator with approximately two and a half decades of experience in extracorporeal life support (ECLS), perfusion, and clinical simulation. He is the CEO of The Simulator Company

Alex Robertson
PANEL MEMBER

Alex Robertson is previously SCPS Vice-Chair and Registrar. Alex has presented at over a dozen international scientific conferences and served as invited faculty at meetings of the American Association of Thoracic Surgery, The World Society for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery.

Salman Butt
PANEL MEMBER

Salman is a highly qualified professional with more than 24 years of Clinical, Teaching and HealthCare Management experience. His expertise covers Clinical Perfusion, Clinical Research, Medical Devices, Risk Management, Patient Safety and Policy making. Salman specializes in all aspects of adult and pediatric perfusion along with various forms of ECLS and Organ Transplantation.
